At 3:14 a.m., Marc discovered a level he had not built.
He was alone in the North Dock Game Lab, which was not as dramatic as it sounded. The lab occupied the second floor of a converted warehouse and contained six powerful computers, one unreliable coffee machine and a plant that had survived three game jams by becoming mostly dust.
On Marc’s screen, Wayfinder waited at the main menu.
Twelve levels. Twelve districts. Twelve names he knew.
The thirteenth slot had no title.
It had appeared between one refresh and the next, as if the menu had been keeping a space for it and had finally decided to stop pretending otherwise.
Marc checked the shared repository. No new files. He checked the activity log. No commits. He sent a message to ZERO POINT.
